October Newsletter
Well Fall is certainly making itself felt now. The school year is well underway and the teachers are busy with lots of great projects.
Our enrollment is starting to take off. This month we will welcome two returning students and two new toddlers. Since we are growing that means more staff. Later this month we will add a cook to our team, he name is April Jenkins. This will allow Ms. Moya to go back to the classroom where she loves to be. April is a bright cheery addition to our staff and we are happy to have her.
Again please let me remind you of the separation of duties here at Steele School.
I understand that many of you have become accustomed to contacting Amy all summer when we were working to get open, however now that we are open things are back to just the way they were at the “farm”. Any questions or issues about enrollment, tuition, schedules, or concerns of any kind should come directly to me. This will leave Amy open to do her job which is teaching, her first love. I know her cell phone # was a great point of contact for the summer but now that we have a center phone we would ask that you use her cell phone only for emergencies, and allow her to get back to being a Mom on the weekends.
We will be celebrating Halloween this year in a big way. We will have a family Halloween party on October the 29th from 6:30 to 8:30pm. Dress the whole family up and come for treats, activities and lots of fun. We will also have the classroom parties on the 31st so you may send your child’s costume. Please check notes in the classrooms to see how you can contribute.
Toddlers Ms. Krista
As we start the month of October we welcome fall: what en exciting time of the year. This month we will be doing some fun science experiments and fun art projects. We will also continue to work on our colors, numbers, and object recognition while dancing up a storm! I am so blessed to have such a smart and energetic class! We will continue to try to go outside as much as possible so please bring a coat and hat daily. Please take the time to look in your child’s cubby each day for treasures they have made and things we may need.
Preschool Ms. Mariah and Ms. Amy
Welcome to October! We got to move our month marker on the first and we talked about how it is a new month. This month we will be learning about fall and Halloween! We will continue working on writing our names by ourselves, counting, letters of the alphabet and their sounds. The PreK kids will continue to work on our sight words, and other benchmarks as outlined in the Colorado Department of Education Academic Standards for Preschool.
Please bring jackets each day, it will continue to get colder and we want to play outside.
