November Newsletter
From Lana
Welcome to November! The weather is changing and the holidays are upon us. Lots going on these next few months, let me start with some reminders and updates you will need.
POLICY CHANGES
-As many of you know in the past we have offered a 15 minute buffer time at end of the day for emergencies. Many parents have now just gotten in the habit of picking their children up at 5:45. For this reason we are forced to change the policy. Any parent who uses the extra 15 minutes more than 3 times in the school year will no longer be allowed this buffer time and will have to pick up by 5:30. We are also changing the charge from $1.00 per minute to $2.00 per minute since we must keep 2 people here late. It is unfortunate that these changes have to happen due to a few parents, however for most families this will never be an issue.
-Parents of infants: I need to remind you that older children are not allowed in the infant room at any time. This is due to the germ factor. Since these babies spend all their time on the floor, we do not need lots of shoes in there.
REMINDERS
-Please remember to be careful when you use your code to enter the building. We have recently found people in the building who have no code. Although there has never been a threat, I just want to remind you that you are not being rude to deny the person behind you entry, you are just being careful.
-If you have questions please feel free to come see me or to leave me a note. If you have a schedule change or you are wondering when your child will be moved to another room please know that the teachers do not have any part in these decisions. Of course if it is a classroom question the teachers are still happy to talk to you about whatever you need.
-There are still a few parents who have not yet paid the annual registration fee. I will be sending out reminders again.
-We will be closed in November on the 26th 27th and 28th. The 27th and 28th are paid holidays. The 26th will be a teacher training day so parents are not charged for that day. If you have questions please feel free to call or email me.

This year is flying by fast. Every day these children show me a different way they are growing. This month we will be focusing on one of the most important things. FAMILY. Family is just what you believe it to be. This month think about who is considered to be a member of your family. Please bring us a picture of your family. We will make a special frame for it. Please make sure your child has extra clothes for emergencies or accidents. Don’t forget to check their daily sheets to know if we need more diapers or wipes. Remember a coat and hat every day, labeled with their name so we can continue to play outside as long as possible.

November will be an exciting month. Our theme will be family. Some topics we will be talking about are our houses, pets, favorite foods and thanksgiving. I am planning some cooking projects for our class and plenty of messy fun. Please ensure your child has an extra change of clothes labeled with their name. We will be trying to enjoy any warm day so make sure your child has weather appropriate clothes and a coat. I welcome any donations of shoeboxes or toilet paper rolls for some upcoming art projects.

For the month of November we are going to be working on our Friendship skills. Our stories will focus on what it means to be a friend or have a friend. Our class has welcomed a few new friends and we are excited to learn and grow with them. Carter has moved up from preschool and is excited about his new classroom. Hunter is new to the center and is transitioning nicely. Stella has returned and really enjoys playing with her “new “ friends.
As you know the weather in Colorado could be beautiful one minute and then stormy the next. Please make sure your student has the appropriate attire at school. I love to take them outside as much as I can.
Thank you for blessing me with these beautiful souls.
