June Newsletter
From Lana
Well, summer is certainly here now. The kids are enjoying being outside after a long winter. As with all summers, we are focused on having fun. The teachers are also doing “power hour”. For one hour each day they play games or work on skills to keep the children sharp for the next school year.
We are welcoming a new teacher Ms. Christie in the toddler room. Christie comes to us with lots of experience and education and really loves toddlers. Ms. Amy has joined us for our summer day camp program and has lots of fun planned. Sadly, we are also saying goodbye to Miss Andrea who has been with us since we were Oak Street Farm and Maranatha before that. Ms. Andrea will be exploring other options and adventures.
Infant 1 Ms. Melanie and Ms. Gladys
Yay! Summer is here. Please bring extra clothes, so we can have some water play and learn different ways to play with it. We look forward to having a fun summer and staying nice and cool.
Infant 2 Ms. Sarah and Ms. Paula
Welcome summertime! This month we will be reviewing our songs words and signs we already know. We had some of our older infants go on to the toddler room. We have had lots of tours and visits from new babies and some not born yet, so we look forward to having new friends. Please check your child’s cubby for spare clothes and take home winter ones and bring summer outfits. Also good to check to see that your child has plenty of jar food if that is what they eat.

Preschool Ms. Lindsey and Ms. Nicholle
Summer is finally here!! You all know that means we will be playing in the water and will need a swimsuit, towel, sunscreen and spare clothes. We have lots of outdoor adventures planned. Please remember to empty your child’s cubby as they are excited for you to see what they have done and want to share it with you.
Pre-K Ms. Pimporn and Ms. Shiloh
We welcome summer! This month we will enjoy water play! Water Play Day will be most every morning. We ask that you bring your child’s swimsuit, appropriate shoes, sunscreen, and a towel. As warmer days are approaching, it is important to protect your child’s skin from the hot sun. We ask that you apply sunscreen to your child in the morning before coming to school or on arrival. We will re-apply throughout the day. Please watch for reminders if your child needs more sunscreen. Sunscreen will not be shared with other children so please label everything.
Day Campers Ms. Amy Mr. Gavin
Welcome back day campers. We are happy to be getting on our way with some summer fun. I have planned a lot of new exciting activities including building a puppet stage and making hand puppets to present a puppet show for the other children in the center. Of course, we still have the standard water play, park, science and library days as well as some fun field trips.
This summer we started writing journals along with our usual power hour and reading. The children are really enjoying expressing themselves and sharing. If your child has a summer workbook please send it.
REMINDER: Please send swimsuit, towel, sunscreen and water shoes all labeled with your child’s name for our water days.
Also, if your child will be late or absent please try to let Amy or Lana know so they can plan for lunch and staff.
