January Newsletter
From Lana
Happy New Year one and all. Thank you to all of you who brought us gifts and goodies. The holiday season is such a great time to reflect and count our blessings. We have many. We are welcoming many new friends and we have opened the new infant room. We have some tiny ones in there. Another thank you to all of those of you who were present during tours with new families and were kind and friendly to them. We have the most wonderful group of children, parents and staff. So many new parents have said to me that much of their decision to choose our school was the positive energy they felt here. I can tell you that the staff feel the same.
Please welcome Vela Gonzales. She comes to us with great education and experience she will be in the new infant room with Ms Melanie while in training and until Sarah returns. Ms Sarah had her baby on the 23rd of December. What a chubby and adorable guy with lots of hair. Sarah should return around the first part of February with little J.D. in tow.
Here is what is happening this month.
I am sorry to say that I will be out for a couple weeks due to an ankle issue I need to take care of and be off my feet for a few weeks. My hope is that I will be out only 2 weeks then here on crutches soon after. Amy will be here, we will stay in touch and I will be working from home until I can get myself back here.
–Holiday No School January 19, 2015.
–Amy and I are hard at work preparing for our full day Kindergarten. YUP it is time to think about that. We will offer the tools of the mind curriculum. Our hope is to recruit no more than 12 children for that classroom. Many of you may remember our Kindergarten program at the farm. We had just 8 kids and they just soared through the year and entered first grade strong.
–Tax forms will be available the last week of January. Ideally I would like to email them to each family. We will put out a list by the sign in book for you to write a good email address so I can be sure it gets to the right place.

Welcome to January. Hope you all had wonderful holidays. This month we will learn about winter weather, our colors will be blue and white and silver. Our signs will be snow, and cold. We welcome Zadie to our infant room. William is learning to stack 3 to 4 blocks to make a tower. Travion is almost walking by himself. Angelo is pulling himself up and Townes is getting closer to walking. Zadie is getting to know us and is cute as a bug in a rug.
Parents please check your child’s cubby.
I really enjoy watching my babies grow and learn every day.

Happy New Year! We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and a rejuvenating break! Thank you all for the thoughtful cards, wishes and gifts for teachers! We are excited about a fun filled year of learning in our classroom! January brings the cold weather and snow to us. We will be getting right into learning by exploring winter with discussions about what the weather is like, hibernation, animals in winter and what we wear when it is cold. Lots of activities to enjoy indoors and outdoors. Wish Kada and Jolene the best a they have transitioned into the intermediate classroom, we will miss you. We are happy to have Shawna join our group.
Parents please check your child’s cubby to be sure they have extra clothes and necessary winter gear for when we venture outside. Welcome back everyone and warmest wishes!

Happy New Year and welcome to 2015. January is going to be filled with our fun winter unit. We will study all things winter including: winter weather and arctic animals. Please remember we will try to enjoy the outdoors when we can, please make sure your child has appropriate winter wear. Each child needs to have at least one set of extra clothes marked with their name. Donations of BIG boxes are always welcome as we love to get creative and invent cool things out of them. Thank you for letting us care for your child.

It is a brand new year! I’m looking forward to seeing what 2015 brings. As we embark into this New Year we will be focusing on getting most of us ready for Kindergarten. If you have any questions about your student and their readiness, please feel free to ask. I feel so blessed to be on this journey with you and your children.
Happy New Year. Ms Andrea
