August Newsletter
From Lana,
Well, here we are heading into the final days of summer. School will be starting soon and the children will be back hard at work. For now, we intend to enjoy every day of summer that is left. Please be sure your child has not run out of sunscreen or anything else needed.
Steele School will be pressing on with lots of changes, and looking forward to seeing another year of great growth and learning.
RE-ENROLLMENT—it is indeed that time again. Each fall we need to update and re-enroll each child. Part of this is to make sure we are in complete compliance with licensing. You will be receiving a packet to complete as well as paying the $105.00 registration fee. In some cases, your tuition rate will change due to children being changed to other classrooms so a new tuition agreement will be included. This packet and the fee must be paid in order for your child to continue to attend after September 1, 2016.
DATES TO REMEMBER IN AUGUST—August 25 and 26 we will be closed for staff training and to prepare for the upcoming school year. These are paid tuition days.
Infants Melanie / Gladys
This month we will be looking and learning about different colors. We will find objects with the colors we are looking for and see the different shades of the color. Our songs for the month will be “Row Row Row Your Boat” and “You are my Sunshine.” Signs for the month will be boat, sun, and gentle.
Infant 2 Paula / Sarah
Falling into August already! Our colors for the month will be brown, red, and yellow. All of our friends are learning and growing. Harlan is now visiting us and will soon be moved right in with us. Signs for August will be tree and leaves. We have been enjoying going outside with the toddlers to play. Please see that your child has appropriate extra clothing.

We are having lots of fun outside with water. We are still using lots of sunscreen on our kiddos so please make sure you have plenty. Also we have been doing a lot of art work about sea life, and enjoying reading the Pete the Cat books. Have a great August.

Well summer is almost over, time sure went fast. We have enjoyed our water play and will continue until September. Our new school year will be starting after Labor Day. Your children will be learning lots of new and exciting thing as well as making lots of new friends. Please continue to bring your child’s water bottle full of water, as they get pretty thirsty outside. Enjoy one more month of summer.

I can’t believe we are coming to the end of summer already! We have had so much fun playing and growing together. Ms. Lindsey will be leaving us for public school. I am looking forward to finishing the summer off with a blast of fun. We will be doing some fun science experiments, art projects, and more! I look forward to making many more memories.

My heart is heavy as we will be saying goodbye to a few of our friends this month. Arianna, David, King, Keegan, Northreyez and Reigh will be venturing off to Kindergarten. We will miss them and wish them a fun and successful new school year. Robbie will turn 4 years on Wednesday August 17th. Families are welcome to bring treats to celebrate the special day.

Well summer is drawing to an end but there is still lots of fun to be had. We will continue to take trips to the park, have water play days, and do lots of crafts. We will be making our own crayons and we will have one more day of painting with Althea. Please remember to check in with Lana and let her know when your child’s last day will be and to reserve any days you may need for breaks this winter.
