September Newsletter
September NewsLetter
Well here we are after months of hard work and setbacks we are finally open and hearing the music of children.
On behalf of Amy, Mariah, Melanie, Krista, Katie, and Vie we have to thank all of you parents who have stuck with us and worked right along with us to make this dream happen. We appreciate all of you so much. We are looking forward to a great winter.
We are still very much in need of new children to make our school a success. We would appreciate any efforts you can offer to get the word out to the community. Go to our Google Map Marker and make a review, often that speaks louder than anything. http://goo.gl/maps/IQkiU.
We also have flyers and brochures to circulate.
Here is what September has in store.
September 3rd Parent Meeting. 6:00 pm. Come with questions, we will just meet briefly to address any questions or concerns you may have. We will plan to meet the first Tuesday of September, December, January and May. We will plan upcoming events and get input as well as answer questions.
September 6th is Grandparents day; your grandparents are invited to join us for tea and treats from 10:30 to 11:00 am.
September 17th is Show N Tell; this is the time for children to bring whatever they would like to share from home.
September 20th Parents night out. 6:30 to 9:30. Here is your chance for a date night. The charge is $15.00 per child, but we must have at least 5 children to make it happen.
Classroom News
Infant Room Melanie
Melanie is still waiting to come back to work; WE NEED BABIES to make that happen.
Toddler Room Krista
Welcome to the month of September! The children have settled in and are feeling right at home. I am so happy to have this energetic group of children. This month we will be learning about a new letter every week, we will start with B.
Please remember to send both sunscreen and a jacket with your child. That is the way Colorado is in September. We want to take advantage of everyday we can to be outside. We will also be talking about the classroom rules and how to treat our friends, to help with this we will play a lot of sharing games.
Preschool Room Mariah & Amy
We are excited to get started! This month we will talk about numbers, letters, rules of the classroom and days of the week.
Make sure you check the parent information board in our classroom, you will find important information, such as lesson plans for the week.
Check your child’s cubby for all their hard work and art treasures for you.
We are excited to watch your children grow and learn throughout this year.

I know you have noticed that part of the teachers lesson plans include “teach the children the rules of the classroom”
A little about children and rules: When it comes to rules, children need them. Boundaries make us feel safe. I like to tell parents that if you notice there are guard rails on overpasses and bridges, I have never run my car into one but I would not drive over the bridge if it were not there. Rules are what children need to understand that they are safe and adults care about them. HOWEVER burdening children with too many rules is confining and takes the joy out of life. It is always better to say “Yes” to children whenever we can, so making the rules clear and simple make us more able to say ”Yes” more.. We have only 3 rules (what child could remember more than that anyway?)
- We keep ourselves safe.
- We keep our friends safe.
- We keep our things safe.
If you think about it these 3 rules cover everything a child should need to know to have a safe and successful day, and that is what we all want.
